I have owned this 1964 Impala SS, since Jan. of 2013. It is a true SS & 4 speed car with firewall tag denoting #1447 with Ember Red Paint (922) and White/Red Interior (811). The odometer is currently reading 148,000 miles. This car definitely turns heads with the glossy Ember Red base/coat - clear/coat and nice white & red interior. The previous Florida owner had the car professionally restored in 2008, however; he informed me that he purchased the car from a N.Y. State collector. According to the previous owner, he had reproduction R/S (only) floors, some trunk work, and R/L lower quarters. He didn't provide me with any pic's of the restoration. It presents well! The frame is very nice & clean. According to the engine numbers, it is a late built, period correct, 327/250 h.p. motor built late '62. Previous owner said it was rebuilt as well. It does run beautifully and sounds great with the factory tail pipes & resonators*. I installed a correct '64 Munice rebuilt 4 sp transmission, since the 4 speed tranny in it was not period correct. It has an original shifter. The posi, period,correct pumpkin (3:36:1) was installed by me, as well. The old original.rear end was not a posi. Note: There are a few (2) paint bubbles on the hood, plus a few bottom of trunk.
